The path of a Challans poultry in our farms

Discover the typical day of a growing poultry in a Challans chicken farm.

Once the minimum age is reached, the poultry have the possibility to walk on the grassy open runs, free access and dimensioned to their size (2 m² on average for a chicken, 10 m² for a goose). Poultry usually follow the course of the sun, so they leave the buildings at dawn.

Depending on the temperature, they stay in the middle of the grass or they will protect themselves under the trees planted by the poulterers. Daily behavior varies depending on the species: The heat sensitive can will tend to return to the cool of the building, while the guinea fowl will not hesitate to frolic when the sun is at the zenith.

Quails: a special feature

No grassy run for free range quails (Coturnix Japonica), they are raised under an aviary to guarantee their safety in the breeding.

Unlimited access to water and cereals

Each poultry has unlimited access to water and cereals inside the buildings. They gain weight at their own pace and without the intervention of the poulterer. Food is available in feeders adapted to poultry.
